$299! Hot dog! All the Comp USA's have closed in Houston, so no go for me. At that price I think I would jump all over it. Right now I'm turn between this and the Nikon D5000. Hopefully I can find a deal on something pretty soon.

For those of you interested in the Kodak Z-980 camera, there is indeed a website devoted exclusively to the Kodak Z-980 camera at: www.z980fan.com

Love my new camera! Kodak color is so vibrant. The macro+ is very impressive. Here's a shot of the center of a zinnia flower. I am so glad that I found the Z980 at a price I could afford.

All Z980 users-
Hello. I got Z980 today. My Z980 might be defective goods possibly. My camera becomes impossible to operate while occasionally using it. Therefore, I detached the battery. Do you think that my Z980 is defective goods? Noburo |

Yes, there is a high possibility the your Z-980 is defective, I am very sorry to say. The camera should not become inoperative. I would certainly have your dealer check the camera for both function and full operation. Have a great day. Sarah Joyce |

Did you charge the battery completely before using the camera? When I got my Z980 on Sunday the batteries were very weak and took several hours to fully charge. Maybe that is the problem with your camera? I am sorry that you are having difficulties. Best wishes, Meezer |

Sarah & Meezer-
Thank you for advice to me. I judged Z980 to be a breakdown. I tried the camera by using eneloop with which it fully charged. but, the symptom has not been improved. Next, I doubted the compatibility of the SDHC card and the camera. What can I do? :-( I will return Z980 tomorrow. And, I obtain Z980 again. Please look at this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFFUX_Xhp6w |

You are very smart to document the problems you have with the Z980 on your You Tube video. Where did you purchase it? I hope it will be easy for you to return it and get a new one. Please let us know what happens. Best wishes, Meezer |

My new Z-980 went to a baby shower on Saturday. Above is a link to the pix. Some were taken in available indoor light, and I noticed quite a bit of purple fringeing. Some were taken with the flash. Some pix are good and some not so good. Just wanted to share my first experience with my new camera in a real life situation. Meezer PS The mother-to-be is my daughter. The gator theme is because she and her husband are both alumni of the U of Florida (the Gators!) |
