I am gioing to buy my fisrt digital camera after holding out for a long time. I can't make up my mind between CX6330 or DX6340. They both seem pretty much equal except for the zoom and the LCD screen. I can afford to by either one, but is the DX6340 worth the extra money? Is there something more about the DX6340 that makes it better then the CX6330?
Thanks for any help. |

Hi There,
The CX6330 has been getting some very good reviews in digital camera magazines, one English mag rated it at 88% and picture quality 4 stars out of 5 which is a great score, the same mag rated the DX6340 at 80%, and for picture quality only 3 stars. I would not read into this to much, I intend to get a DX6440 in the new year. You can see sample pics taken with the CX6330 at my webite which can be found at http://members.optusnet.com.au/~davereys/ I change the pics every two weeks. Regards Dave Downunder. |

Here are some differences between the DX6330 and DX6340 repectively;
White balance override: DX6330 - Auto DX6340 - Yes, 4 positions ISO rating: DX6330 - Auto (100 - 200) DX6340 - Auto, 100, 200, 400 Macro focus range: DX6330 - 60 cm DX6340 - 10 cm Aperture range: DX6330 - F2.8 - F4.7 / F5.2 - F8.9 DX6340 - F2.2 - F5.6 / F4.8 - F13 Min shutter: DX6330 - 1/2 sec DX6340 - 4 sec Max shutter: DX6330 - 1/1400 sec DX6340 - 1/2000 sec DX6340 has Manual override options for Aperture and Shutter settings, the 6330 does not. I'm sure I have missed a few things. I'd say you could grow into the 6430 as it has more options, specifically Manual control of Aperture and Shutter. Hope this help ![]() - |

I just editted the above as I had 6440, 6430 and 6330 model numbers all over the place...hope Kodak realizes there are more numbers out there to choose from...makes things a bit confusing.

Hi There,
Thanks for you kind words re my website, the reason I will be getting the DX6440 is because it allows better exposure control than the CX6330,I like the shutter and aperture priority on the DX6440, I have spent over 40 years using full manual control on film cameras but dont find it necessary these days. I cant think of any photographic situation that the DX6440 could not handle, except maybe astro photography, I cant remember the last time I took a photo with an exposure over four seconds. Hi - I noticed you were saying "DX"6440 but "CX"6330. I've won an auction for a "DX6330" on eBay and wonder whether to keep it - is this the correct model number? I can't find a review of this model anywhere on Steve's Digicams. Perhaps they meant "CX"...
This is a Kodak EasyShare camera, by the way. Thanks and blessings! Sdianas |

Sdianas, here is a list of Kodak cameras........
.....http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Kodak/ Edit: I didn't really want to direct you somewhere else but Steve seems to list only the cameras he's tested. Good luck with your eBay win--being a Kodak the colours should OK at least. Last edited by Almar; Oct 23, 2009 at 8:26 AM. Reason: Afterthought |
