These Drawings for the cable release bracket, do not show where or how to screw in the cable. That will come in a day or two after I buy a new cable release so I can properly mount one! The 1/8th inch aluminum can be substituded with 1/4 inch lexan or plexiglass. To go thinner with the plastic will make it flex too much. I also plan on covering the threads between the Nyloc locking nuts with black shrink tubing to dress it up a little. Questions are welcome!

Red I've never understood why they haven't had it on at least the P series cameras along with a bulb setting for longer exposures! As for it being technical it really is just a matter of drilling a few holes in stock materials readily available at most hardware stores.

Thanks Boily and En! I'll be posting some photos of it in a day or two if I can ever get to Huntsville and get that cable release for it! Right now I'm spending three hours every morning working on the Garage and don't have enough free time to go there. Got to get in every free minute getting it up before the real winter sets in! May have to order one from B&H.

Oh yeah En Bulb setting should allow you to leave it on as long as you wish! The DX7440 would allow up to 64 seconds but was not enough time for some types of shots!

Nice work dawg. Thanks for sharing your brain with all of us.
I quess the length of the threaded rod will vary a bit depending on the camera used. Are you using the little round thumb screw to mount the camera? How does it attach to the tripod? It will all come together in due time hehe |
