I have a 6490 and my parents are looking for a camera that can be easy to use but with other features if necessary. What is available that would compare to the 6490 ? I'm not a big picture taker as many of you seem to be from reading some posts so I don't keep up with all the current models. I've seen the Z650,Z612 and Z710 any suggestions or opinions on theese ?
Also whats the best way to develope digital pictures ? I usually use the Kodak machine at wal-mart. Thanks, dave |

hi Dave
any of the Kodak range will fit your bill! i have a p712 and i am very happy with it , i also had a z7590 and was also happy with that, they all give good results !! they all are easy to use , and to be fair after the pictures i have seen on here they all seem to take good pics including the dx6490!! decide what you really want a new camera for and buy the camera that best suits your needs ie zoom , image stabilization ect ect, but i think all the Kodak range are pretty good no matter which one you decide on . regards bob. |

Any of the ones you mention should work just fine. Try them if you can at a store...then make your choice!

Dave, I've seen some real nice pics from the z612...and Beach Camera is selling it for $269 free shipping and (no tax depending on where you live)
I don't do a lot of printing, but I've had decent results from Shutterfly Dan |

One thing to keep in mind,,,i`ve taken shots to Walmart to have them printed too,,,and they, along with most other developers do not print what you bring,,,they correct, enhance etc..Walmart ruined 24 8x10 prints on me the last time i was in..Tell them BEFORE they print to NOT DO ANY ADJUSTMENTS on the prints,,period..what they think they should look like and what you think are 2 different things altogether. This is industry wide,i`ve gone to 3 different places, and they all say they do corrections unless ASKED NOT TOO....
just a thought Brian |
