I made this feeder to be an upside down feeder to discorage starlings. Its a suet feeder and starlings have very week legs for feeding upside down. At the same time chickadees,nuthatches and woodpeckers like to eat this way. Andy

Thanks Domang glad you liked it.. Chickadees are one of if not my favorite birds. Here where I live it can get down to between 20 and 30 F. below 0 and the dee dees come to the sunflower feeders and always seem comfortable in those conditions. I have stod by a feeder with a hand full of sunflower seeds and one will land on my hand and take a seed. Andy

Yeah, the chickadees are the boldest and especially in the winter when food is scarce.

Good to hear that you feed then in the cold weather. Many people feed them in the summertime and then cut them off in the winter when they really need the food.
