The naming convention of many kodak camera is 100_0843...
(That mean you took 843 pictures) But when you reach the 10 000 pictures, the file name is 101_2356, for example !! My problem is that I took more then 10 000 pictures and the file names restarted to 100_0001 and I can't copy them with my other pictures without over righting them ![]() Does someone know how to fix that problem ? Not sure... I have 7000 more pictures to take before I encounter that problem. The easiest thing to do would be start a new folder though.

You could name your folders now to "old" and make new ones.
or seeing if theres any way to change the file name on the camera.. i doubt there is but never know. or go to "my computer" and look for "P850 Zoom Digital Camera" and when you upload them that way... whatever you name the folder thats what the file names will be named with a number after "birds" "birds1" "birds2" "birds3" etc. |

Or you could also use the Windows Scanner and Camera Wizard to do this. You can name them yourself. shooting_rubber. |

I've seen postings on various websites and forums talking about methods of "forcing" the camera to start a new folder and thus a new number sequence. In fact our own friend Ron Baird has talked about this. Ron, can you help Boily with this?

Hi Boily,
You can remedy this when using EasyShare software as the program puts your pictures in different folders on your system (by date) as a default. So, if you take enough pictures to turn over the counter, the files will not overwrite. If you are not using EasyShare software, you will have to pay attention to where you download the files. Your system should alert you to the fact that files already exist. At that point redirect the file to a different folder etc. Talk to you soon. Ron Baird Eastman Kodak Company |

I'm surprised it just starts over... some other brands will change from 100_9999 to 101_0001... which is how it should work... this sort of bugs me, although I"m still 7000 shots off.
