I saw a glorious sunset the other day as I drove home, and thought I should go up our local hill and shoot it from there on a suitable evening. Next day looked most promising so I set off in the dusk. The promised sunset didn't materialise due a cloud bank in the west, but I I had fun anyway...

This is where the sunset would have been, with the lights of Wrexham, capital of NE Wales, 11 miles away...

As mist began to pour over the hill on my descent, I took the opportunity to explore the Z1012's low light performance, and incidentally its image stablisation and its in-camera 3 -shot panorama mode.

I like the #1 Photo a lot. It reminds me of the sunset I shot last night (06 Dec). Sarah Joyce |

Further on, in the gloom on the muddy track home through the woods, a sludge sprayer was cleaning his tank with his headlights on. I adjusted the EV in the EVF by eye to look as I perceived it without the camera, resulting in this high ISO shot.
It'd have been less shaky if I'd thought to prop it on the gatepost, but I was in a hurry as I couldn't see where I was putting my feet, and I knew the tanker would be coming along the track shortly. Exposure bias [EV]: -2.0 F-Number: F3.2 Focal length [mm]: 5.85 35mm focal length [mm]: 33 ISO value: 800 Shutter speed [s]: 1/3 Aperture: F3.1 |
