Hi!
A question 4 all you: what image resolution would you use with the dx6490? 4mp***, 4mp** or the 3.5mp (4/3 ratio)? I usually take a lot of pictures and later print my favourites to 4x6 or a bit bigger, not poster size. Thanks |

I just leave mine in the Best mode (4.0mp) as it give me room to maneuver in any cropping.

If you are printing only 4 X 6,,,leave the DC in the 3:2 aspect ratio,,,it will put a black bar on your LCD so you can frame the shot perfectly for that size print...
But,,,i leave mine in best mode,,,like Paul,,,,if you need to enlarge later to ,,,,lets say 8 X 10,,,you`ll need all the pixels you can get.. Brian |

Thanks 4 replying.
Have you noticed many difference between ** and *** qualities? With my Canon A40 I used to take photos in the equivalent to ** mode. There was almost no difference. In the 6490 I haven´t tried yet. |

On a computer screen you will not notice the difference but if you wanted a big print you would certainly need the extra pixels. Mind you, my daughter has a CX6230 (2mp) and A4 prints are coming out very well. |
