There is a chap in England, Andy Bright that takes some of most "tack sharp" photos of birds and wild life via a Zeiss spotting scope (I think he is now a spokes person for Zeiss). I have seen his work at a bird forum when he was just using a Kowa spotting scope and they were also fantastic.

When you see his work you will want to put your camera in a sack with some rocks and toss it i the river!

Shortcut to: http://www.digiscoped.com/

Get some vizine, a tall glass of ice tea and look at his work.

Well Bill2468 I will not be throughing my 6490 in the trash anytime soon. I am well familar with Andy Brights and a lot of other people who take fine pictures through a spotting scope. Some point and shoot cameras work great with spotting scopes such as the nikon coolpix 900 series among them the 900,950 and 995.Ultra zooms do not work good with spotting scopes. I am not going to give a long explanation why but you can reserch it to find out why. I am not talking D SLRs here either. Andy
