A few days ago I took a trip to Highland County, VA which is on the border with WV, and is part of the George Washington National Forrest. It's also waaaaaaay out in the boonies.

Anywho, here are some pics!

This is an example of the adjustments I'm talking about.

This is the "how the camera/how photoshop would automatically interpret the shot"

1st adjustment... raised exposure and LOWERED saturation (just for poops and giggles i guess, I usually like more saturation).

And increased saturation, a few shadows brought out.

Very nice shots and thanks for showing the comparisons.

Now that I have this really bitchin P712, I am going to have to learn about using RAW. I always thought it was something un-cooked. :-)

What software are you using to make the adjustments?

Again, nice work.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'd love to post more pics but there aren't any more of this set. It was starting to rain, which was neat because I could hear it coming down in the trees from quite a way (it's so quiet around there!!) so I had plenty of time to pack up and run back to the truck!

However, I'ma be posting many more pics of my trips throughout the appalachias (not the smokies ;) )

I'm using photoshop CS2 to make the adjustments. Shooting w/ RAW is great but you're gonna need LOTS of storage space! each pic is between 16-20mb @ 8megapix (the only resolution RAW can be shot in on the 880)
