Here's a Z712 specimen from yesterday (downsized and sharpened for the forum), with which I'm well pleased. Don't be downhearted . Photography isn't easy.
Keep shooting, and throw away everything but the best! Good luck! |

'last one for now'looks very good to me. Don't worry; you have a good camera, based on my last years'experience. Search for my posts, and ac.smith's, if you don't believe me. As said, photography isn't easy.

There are various other little noises as well. Switch them off if you don't like them, after finding out what they do. Good luck! I love my Z712. It's OK. Best camera I've owned in about 48 years. |

..and what I should have said, I now realise, is "all those pics look fine to me, especially 'last one for now.' " Are you happy with it, Carly?
It's a good idea to experiment with the settings as you learn the camera. Exposure bracketing is especially useful. I often deliberately underexpose by 0.3 EV (easily set in the viewfinder) to avoid blown highlights. I shoot in aperture priority ('A') mode mostly, and twiddle the aperture up & down to get an acceptable shutter speed & depth of field. Then I usually adjust the EV up & down until the exposure (after a half-press of the release button) looks about right. Once you know where the buttons are, you don't have to take it away from your eye to do that in a few seconds. Everyone develops their own way of working. Your new camera is capable of much better than 'point & shoot', though lots of folk just use that. |
