Kodak easyshare p880

hey there...

I've got a Kodak Easyshare, and I've got a huge problem!!!

Recently I bought a new SDHC 4GB card, but the camera won't accept it.
I've heard that the camera needs an upgrade. But how do I get the upgrade into the camera, and where do I find this upgrade???
I've looked on some danish sites, but nothing found.

Really hope that someone can help...

You can find the latest firmware update for your P880 on this page. Select your operating system and you'll see the firmware listed in the available downloads:

http://www.kodak.com/global/en/servi...oadLanguage=en

But, I don't see anything in the instructions that suggests it adds SDHC card compatibility to your model (which does not support SDHC cards from what I can see through some quick searches about it). Here's what the new firmware is supposed to provide:

Quote:

  • Reduced Shutter button lag for better picture taking performance.
  • Improved Auto Focus.
  • Improved Auto Exposure performance.
  • On camera red-eye reduction in review mode.

I've moved this thread down to our Kodak forum where we have a lot of knowledgeable members that would probably be able to tell you for sure. But, if it doesn't support SDHC with a firmware update, you may need to buy a smaller SD (not SDHC) card for it.

Many older cameras do not support SDHC. See this section on a wikipedia page discussing compatibility issues:

JimC is very correct-

The Kodak P-880 predates the newer SD cards. Therefore, that 4gb SDHC chip will not work in the P-880. Just to be sure I just tried a 4gb SDHC chip in my P-880 and it would not work at all.
