Kodak High Technology featured on BBC4!

Last night, the highbrow upmarket British TV channel BBC4 featured the 'Royal' photographer, Arthur Edwards, of the very lowbrow downmarket 'Sun' tabloid redtop newspaper, photographing HM The Queen of England at an event using a 106-year-old Box Brownie, with excellent results, albeit using modern 120 roll film. He did have one DoF problem when a lady-in-waiting got closer than 5 feet from the camera.

I just thought all you fellow Kodak camera users might be amused to note how how far the technology has or hasn't progressed. The dynamic range of his negs would certainly have been much better than anythingwe can do with our digicams.

I think photographic image quality, has been somehow limited by optical physics, and the properties of photons.

Digital tech only adds to the convenience in the course of of taking pictures, but not the quality of the resulting picture.
