It appears that Kodak may be pulling out of the low end digital camera market. The questions on my mind are what is considered to be "low end", and what time frame they're going to use for phasing out the cameras they have in this market niche.

I agree, Jim...seems like they should give us a little more info when they make an announcement like that. My first thought would be the C series as lowend, but then some Z and V models are in the same general price range. If I wasin the market for one of these now, I'd be hesitant and probably lean towards a different brand...Wonder how much thought was put into this release

I think they have way to many cameras in the C series, often with duplicate prices and only minor and/or non-sensical differences in feature sets. That is also true, to a lesser extent in the Z and V Series. Example - Z710 and Z650 - same price, same 10x zoom, why? For that matter why offer the 10x lens at all since there's only $20savings over the Z612?

I've always preferred the 10X to the 12X. Seems sharper. But redundancy is rampant in their product line....The P series and the Z series plus the new higher mp C line should be kept...I just wonder about the quality of the cameras after the Man. is sent over seas?

It's already overseas.

Not much profit in the low end and too much competition I think.
