Nice work, Dawg. (just in case you thought I had totally disappeared - I'm mainly lurking these days as I'm in the middle of another show) I still think that zooming with the wide-angle produces an effect very much like the Lensbabies. Both lenses are nice pieces of qlass, though I take pains to avoid high-contrast shots with the T-Con. This lens is especially touchy with shots like twigs against a bright sky.

You have it right on all counts as always Tom. The TCON can give quite a bit of fringing and halos if the sun is right. The wide angle shots with the zoom can give a nice almost dream like effect. Pepperson you are more than welcome. This is no more than anyone else on the forum would do. We like to help because some very nice folks like Tom Overton were nice enough to help us when we first signed on. I'll still be getting some bird shots tomorrow and post them for you!

I have begun using Photo filtre to post process and resize my photos. It is a pretty full featured program that will do almost everything you need to post your photos including resizing! You can find it here and it's not a big download and doesn't use up all your computing power the way Adobe products do! As you save your file it will ask you where to save it. Pick a file and then say OK. Then in the next pane that comes up hit the preview button. This will open a slider where you can resize the pixel size. Just remember to hit the preview button again after moving the slider so you can see the change you have made!

Dawg,
I saw some pics you posted of some rockets. What did you use (camera/lens) to get those shots from far away. I just bought the telephoto lens from kodak for my p850 I played with it, but my pics so far are a blur. Need lots of practice. I turned on the accessory lens button what else do you suggest. |

I used a Kodak DX6490 camera with both a Snieder Kruesnach 0.07 wide angle lens and a Olympus TCON-17 teleconvertor lens. The only filter was a Tiffen Sky 1-A filter mounted before the Wideangle and the TCON in a stacked formation. In other words the camera--the extension tube---the filter---then either the wide angle lens or the TCON. I sometimes add a Tiffen polorizing lens in the stack just on top of the Sky-1A and before the other two lens! My one suggestion to you is use a tripod. At the longer lengths you'll find a lot of motion blur otherwise! Here are a couple of shots showing the setup.
