![]() I have a Kodak p880 and wanted to add a filter to it. So I purchased the lens adapter (8480485 59mm to 55mm). It accepts male 55mm filters. I went to Ritz Camera today and they told me they did not know how to attach filters to the Kodak lens adapter. How is this possible? I have read other posts but can not find how to do it. Thanks |

I have a P850..not sure how much different the adapters are between the two..but normally the filter just screws into the femaleend of the adapter. That's a little odd that a camera shop wouldn't know how to attach the filters :\ But anyways, hopefully this helps or maybe someone else will come along who has a better answer.

There are many horror and comedy stories of folks visiting Ritz and Wolf camera stores. They don't hire folks there for their knowledge of cameras that's for sure. The filters will screw onto the adapter just as they do to any lens on a DSLR or SLR. The filters have a male thread and the adapters have a female thread on the outer portion. Quite easy really but you have to remember that these are very fine threads and be careful not to cross thread them!

Be nice to those sales people.
Last week they were selling neck ties and the week before it could have been washing machines or panty hose. If the camera store job fails there is always stock clerk at the supermarket. These days you shop for prices not for information most of the time. BiLL :| |

True unless you go to a locally owned Camera store. One that has been in buisness for many years with the same sales staff. The only problem with some of those is the Snob Factor that all Kodakians seem to run into! They seem to think if it isn't a Lieca or Hassalblad, or a Nikon it isn't worth owning!

Dan, you are correct there is a ring, but that was not the problem. I brought in the adaptor to Ritz the first time and explained what I needed. I went to another Ritz today and asked for a 55mm filter and it worked fine, just like Dani said.
Thanks |
