G'day Nies
IF the lines are 'only' on the viewfinder image - keep shooting till the camera eventually dies of old age, however... IF the lines come out on every image you shoot, then the camera is 'dead' > time for a replacement Regards, Phil

Hello Phil!
Thank you for your answer! The lines appear on the images...not as bad as it looks on the viewfinder but you can't use the image anymore. But I tried it again today and now there have been no lines? Yesterday every image was lost. Do you think it could have been something like a loose contact? But probably it'll just be luck if there don't appear lines...what a pity, I liked the camera a lot and getting a replacement is such a hard decision... Nies |

G'day again Nies
I'm happy to hear the lines have gone or seem to have gone :-) If they return & if they become too much of a nuisance, it may be time to do something about it I have popped into dpreview and had a sqwiz at the 612's specs ... it reminds me of my old panasonic fz30 ... 6pmx, 12x zoom etc > lovely camera but time has moved on Maybe you could look at the new 990 'just in case' you need to do something about a new camera ... it should have very similar menus to the 612 If you can't find a 990 and want to explore others, canon & panasonic & olympus all have offerings that might be worth looking at Hope this helps a bit Regards, Phil

Hi Phil!
I'm really happy about it, too. ![]() it'll work out. It's really weird... Thanks a lot for help!! And the tip about the 990! I looked at it. Wow, 30x zoom, that's great! I'll definitely think about that cam, because I think I probably better start looking for a replacement. Even if I really hope my Z612 will be working for a long time again, I doubt it... Regards, Nies |
