I have forammted the 16GB SD card that I use with my Zi6 on another piece of equipement. The Zi6 comes on OPK and record video for a few seconds (as little as one, never more than ten) and then stops recordingby itself and shows the SD card symbol with an exclamation mark through it. The card then appears to be corrupted.
I have found the service menu on the Zi6 itself and tried to format the card via that method but I get a 'Format Fail' message. Can I fix this? Bill |

I'd try using this software to format it, using a card reader that works with SDHC cards (and many readers are not SDHC compatible).
You'll find a download link at the bottom of the page: http://panasonic.jp/support/global/c...formatter.html Then, I'd format it using the camera's menu choice for format before using it again. |

I know I'm a few months late, but I have the same problem.
I tried dozens of different formatting programs, and eventually got the sd card to format inside the camera itself. But, and here's where the problem is, I turn on the camera after the formatting is complete, it takes about 3 times longer to turn on, but once it turns on, there is nothing on the display except for what the camera sees, there are no icons or anything, clicking buttons does nothing, and you cannot turn the power off.. |

Zippy-
It sounds as if you may have a defective SD card. Sarah Joyce |
