The first one is great. Good to see such a crisp/clean picture at full optical!
The other one isn't as good quality. But, of course, that's because of the digital zoom. ![]() The second isn't really that bad of quality. Very nice shots. Keep it up! ![]() -En121 |

Thanks En121!
Yeah, I know the second isn't that great but wanted to see how the digital zoom worked on the P850 (first time using it) and thought I'd post my results. I am quite happy with the first photo myself. Both photos were uncropped/unedited except for resizing for the forum. |

What kind of settings did you use? They're good pics, but I'm sure you can get alot crisper pics than that with your 850, and just wait until you can get a tcon! you'll have a pic like your one w/ digital zoom but probably twice the clarity!

Actually you can get very good results with the digital zoom on moon shots! Do you have a tripod yet? If not plan on one in the near future...especially if you plan on buying a Tcon. The longer length lens will work much better with the tripod! Also remember as the moon gets fuller that shooting the moon requires you to use "daytime" settings as the light from the moon can be intense and gets moreso as the moon grows larger! Following are a few of my captures. The first is without digital zoom and no cropping! The others were taken using full digital zoom from a tripod! The exif data should still be included! And Nik keep up the moon shots they are fun and I love looking at them!

Amazing shots there dawg! The detail on the digital zoom shot(s) are great. You can see craters! Its like a telescope! ^_^ Very nice.
