Hi there folks,
I pretty much have devoted my Z-712, "work horse" camera to E-Bay duties and taking equipment photos for this Forum. It is two camera generations old but it still does lovely macro or close-up work. I have attached a sample. Sarah Joyce |

You've inspired me, Sarah Joyce, to count up my images in 2009, using the backups I keep of my memory card contents.
I bought a Z1012 just over a year ago as backup for my May 2007 Z712, and used it for 1200 shots until April. Then, deciding that I preferred handling, size, weight, and menus on the Z712 I went back to that, starting with my Easter holiday. Since then I've taken 2273 shots, mostly in that Scottish holiday and another holiday in August in the Highland & Islands of Scotland. So the Z712 is still going strong after many thousands of shots, and I'm delighted with it. When it eventually dies, the Z1012 is all ready to go. |

Hi there, Alan-
Yes, the trusty older Kodak Z-740 just keeps on clicking. I use the Z-712, side by side with my Z-1012, another very dependable Kodak camera, that is now, no longer in production. Unfortunately, the replacement for the Z-1012, the Z-950 just does not quite measure up in terms of image quality. The Z-980 camera, a very able 24X optical zoom camera with a very handy hot shoe, and very good image quality, has now also ceased production, after just an 11 month run. Have a great day! Sarah Joyce Perhaps the Spring of 2010 will bring some new camera announcements. |

I have a Z700 (5x zoom lens instead of 10x on the Z712) and it captures fine 4MP images.

babya-
Yes, another of those great cameras. My oldest is my DX-6490 and DX-7440 which are both still clicking away. Sarah Joyce |
