Hey all, I'm planning on taking my P850 on a bike ride with me, and was wondering how tough the camera is, I bike over some really bumpy off-road kind of trails, it will be in a case so it shouldn't be a problem, I just want to be sure.

I don't think you should worry about that:-)
In a case, the p850 will be fine ![]() |

Alright, thank you very much. I'm just a tad paranoid. I'm but a boy of 15, and I can't afford another camera... so the thought of losing my 850 scares me:-)

Before destroying my back from too many accidents, I did a lot of very hardcore mountain biking, road racing and touring. If you don't already have one, you need to get a sturdy but lightweight rack on the the rear of your bike with a good quality padded bag attached. This bag will be removable and usable as a camera bag. Take a look at what your local bicycle police use and you'll have an idea what I'm talking about. Any bicycle shop can set you up with one of these. Cannondale makes an excellent product.

Thanks for the tips all. And Faciabrut, I do have a summer job... I'm just not keen on spending another $400 Canadian on a camera that could go towards a car in 4 months...:-)
I will have to look into one of those bike racks, that sounds useful. Right now I just carry it in my camera bag around my neck or in my backpack. |
