I am not recommending this but your post gave me some ideas
here is a link for the hobbiest it involves using molding clay...after making a molded part you bake in the oven to make it hard then you trim and sand and finish http://www.mediachance.com/digicam/c...ease/index.htm I am scratching my head and thinking for a better way//the timer delay is ok but a remote shutter release would be better... |

Jim..If you have the time and some tools I can show you a little fancier version of the shutter release bracket that will fit even small cameras...as well as the larger digi-cams! Takes some doing but it is very adjustable!

Someone once proposed using micro solenoids that are used with remote controlled model aircraft. Just a thought!

Hi Dawg,
I looked at somthing similar that the kite fliers use for taking aerial photos, but way too much gear. |

Other than a simple bracket and a cable release it starts getting pricey! One of these days ..it is my fervent hope that Kodak will either inclode a screw-in socket on the shutter release os a socket on the side somwhere to attach one as most folks who shoot for a hobby could use this feature!

Yeah... I'm starting to see more and more cameras (non-Kodak) that are actually coming with a IR remote to fire them. That would be cool too! :-)

I heartily agree. It is such a useful feature that I cannot fathom why Kodak doesn't include it! The timer works but it takes the immediacy away. If you set the timer you have to wait ten seconds on my camera and you can lose the shot you wanted while you are waiting!
