Although I somtimes wish I bought a P850 for the telephot lens the fact is I take more scenic and architectural shots which is where the wide angle capabilities of the P880 realy perfroms.

Great shot. However, there is some vingenette on all of the corners. You can make this less noticable by making the image larger. Say... 800x600. Or, 1024x768. Those might work. Just a tip. :)

EN121 what appears to be vingenette is actuall a missalligned lens shade I had quite a few photos that had the same problem I checked my shade and it was not locked properly.

Thanks for your comments.

Ah. That's good to hear. Because, I might get a P880. For the manual controls, advanced features, wide angle, 8mp, etc. Good to hear it was just the lens hood. :)

Beautiful colors there Jim. I know form experience with my Lowly 4mp DX6490 that wide angle shots like that come out clearer and with less apparent noise in the photos. That one has an almost 3-D look to it, especially in the background clouds out in the distance!

Edit: Sorry!

Thanks for the comments Dawg and En121

En121...what noise are you talking about? clouds or the corners from the malaligned lens shade?

En121 Sep 17, 2006 11:24 PM

Edit: Sorry, I think I misunderstood Dawg. I think he was trying to say that all wide angle shots like that come out clearer and with less aparent noise. Sorry about that.

Another beautiful "postcard quality" shot. Don't change a thing! Good job Jim.
