Some of my flower pictures have unfavorable DOF or background so I would sometimes drastically photochop the resulting shot. India guy's "Red rose," (Wed Oct 18[suP]th[/suP], 2006) gave me the nerve necessary to post several of the ones I sort of like but wasn't sure they were the type of digital manipulation appropriate for this forum.
These were taken with the DX3900 and manipulated I think with elements 2. Here are several for comment if you will: No. 1 |

Lovely pictures! I'm partial to #2 myself. Love B&W photos. Sometimes seeing all the wonderful photos everyone posts makes me sad..because it seems like no matter what I do with my camera, nothing I take comes even close to anything else posted on this board. But like I said..these are gorgeous photos and I look forward to seeing more from you!
Dani Sorry for the funky posting. My computer seems to be experiencing technical dfficulties |

Thanks Boily and Dani for your three comments.
I'm not sure these continue to be called 'photos,' in-as-much as they have been seriously modified to give them an unatural background. Anyhow they are fun to toy with. On this yellow flower I tried to eye-dropper another color from the center to create the background. The problem with this method is I think the dropper picks out the color of just one of the several pixels that make up the percieved color. I ended up witha choice of everything from yellow to green. I chose this background because itwasuncomfortablefor me tokeep my eyes focused on the picture. Just a different aproach to viewing. Ken |
