The Kodak V550 MPEG-4 movies in Quicktime format is very good.
But sometimes I want to remove the unwanted frames due to either subjects are not readily in the scene, or that the quality is not good e.g. extremely poor lighting conditons. The major gain, is more efficient file size. Or sometimes really short movie clips I want to join them together. So I am NOT requiring editing within each frame i.e. I don't need to adjust the brightness, sharpness or color saturation ...etc. I just want to manipulate the frame sequence and strip away unwanted frames. I read somewhere before in Kodak's mktg brochure the would bundle such s/w capability, but after I did a full installation of the s/w CD, I could not find such function. Any ideas if there are such light-weight editors for Kodak V550's QT MPEG-4 movies? Of course I prefer free or shareware ![]() Thanks in advance! |

Post some video clips? It's an chicken/eggs issue. The shortest clips I have on hands with people moving inside them(plain scenery clips may not reveal much quality), are at least 10MB. I wanted to have the editor in order just to cut them short to share with you guys
How do I post large files in Steve's Forum? Or in any public uploadable websites? To be honest, I really don't want to send personal emails. Let me tell you the sizes: 640x480 @ 500KB/s, 320x240 @ 200KB/s. E.g. a 10sec 640x480 would occupy about 5MB. |

W/o the mpeg-4 editing s/w, I just trained my fingers to press the shutter twice quick to produce a short enough, 121KB clip @ 320x240, to be posted here.
Zoomed 3x from 50 meters away into an ice-skator, on rainy day with poor indoor lighting condition. You need to rename the extension to .mov to play it with QT. This forum does not recognize .mov extension, and I have to rename it to .jpg |

Hopeless to attach non-image files here. You've noticed already, renaming it to jpg did not work. Anyway I knew in another Casio vs Kodak topic that you ordered the V550 already. You are the 3rd owner I saw in Steve's forum. Good decision!

Sorry to withdraw my too quick conclusion again - my movie has been attached.
You may right-click on the broken image icon and"SaveImageAs" v550.mov (for Netscape). |
