Beautiful flowers.
I think you have a problem with the background. I think #1 needs more dof if you are to include that many flowers. But that would make more clear the background structure that, IMO, detracts from the flowers. Much the same for #2. The flower looks great but I think the pic would benefit from a darker background. IOW, I think that placing a different background behind the flowers would make for better pics while giving you more latitude to play with dof. |

#2 is the better one muted background is nice and depth of field is good too.
#1 has to shallow a depth of field and back ground is too distracting. Case dismissed! BiLL :| |

I don't know how to alter the background. What I was getting at is your using a dark backdrop. Place something dark behing the flowers. In another forum there is someone who has used a black t-shirt for that purpose.
