I recently purchased a Sanyo Xacti C6. I love the video performance but the audio distorts very easily, so I'm looking for a replacement.

On paper, the V610 seems ideal for video (I don't care too much about still pics), but I've read mixed reviews. I'm especially interested in video performance in moderate low light, such as a restaurant or bar setting. Also, how's the audio quality?

Thanks for your help.

Perhaps you should consider a video camera. I have yet to see a still camera that can
produce a decent video.

Get the right tool for the job.

My P712 will shoot a 15 min. video but it's a fer piece from movie quality.

You don't go to a proctologist with a tooth ache and you don't shop for a still camera to shoot video under poor light! :G

I have a Cannon z65 digital video camera with 20x optical zoom, very small and light and weight. When You use it you get footage that looks like your watching t.v. without a HD television. On a HD tv you will flip over the quality.

Thanks for the quick responses. I understand that no still cam is going to match a dedicated video cam, but for various reasons a video cam is not feasible for my purposes. I need something that will fit in a pants pocket.

So, compared just to other still cams,

1. How does the v610 movie quality under moderate low light (ie restaurant or bar, not talking about nightime outdoors or candlelight)

2. How is the audio
