I have noticed when in the wide angle mode (focal length at the widest), I seem to get barrel distortion. Is there a way to minimize or correct this this? Or do I just fix it in CS4? (Curious, can paintshop pro X2 fix it as well?)

Rosy-
This is not an issue that is adjustable in the camera. It is best solved with software such as CS4, Photoshop Elements, Paintshop Pro, etc. Sarah Joyce |

At times it can be fixed in camera with a suitable subject and freedom of movement. Somewhere around 50-70mm equiv. the barrel distortion disappears. Find the longest horizontal line in the scene you wish to photograph and place that at the top or bottom edge of the EVF (I guess the LCD would work as well but I never use it) and zoom until the line is as straight as you can get it. Then "zoom with your feet" until the scene is framed as you want it. I've done this with outdoor murals and indoors on paintings. Obviously that doesn't work for ever situation but it does work on some.
