The spec sheet for the newZ1012 with the new 1/2.33 sensor. The lens is listed as having a 35mm equivalent focal length of 36mm-396mm. Do the math and that's an 11x zoom not the advertised 12x.
I suspect it isthe same12x lensas the earlier Z612/712/812 cameras. The larger sensor (1/2.33 vs. 1/2.5) would shorten the effective focal length of the lens at both telephoto (396 vs. 436) and at wide-angle so the correct wide-angle specification should be 33mm. I also wonder if the real minimum shutter speed is 1/30 sec. since the rest of the Z*12 series will go down to 1/8 sec. and even slower in manual mode. A. C. |

Yup, 33 - 396mm. And the shutter speed is 1/30 - 1/3200 not 1/30 - 1/32000. I was looking forward to that 1/32000 for stop action. :-)

Those are impressive specs. But will the camera be as good as the specs look?

I still think the 1/30 sec. is in error or Kodak made a bad decision when the prior cameras would go to 1/8 sec. The spec. sheet iI was quoting is here: http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQueri...q-locale=en_US
