Hi all, new guy here (slaps newbie sticker on forehead).
I could use some advice. I have a fairly new Z612 - which takes good photos for the most part - I should say the colors are much more vibrant compared to my KM DiMage Z5. However I am finding many of my photos have blurred to down right black corners. Here is one that I haven't edited. I came back this weekend and I had a few that had huge black corners. It doesn't seem to do this if I zoom in some however. So my question would be... is this normal - just deal with it? Or do I have a bigger issue? It's been doing this since I bought it, but on a recent trip I did manage to break the rear LCD 2.5" rear display as all I can see is what looks like a shattered image. I haven't looked into fixing it yet. Thanks in advance. Here is an example of the problem I am having. ![]() This is a photo that I zoomed in a bit, no black corners (love this pic personally the camera did a great job catching the detail and stopping the motion) ![]() |

What you're seeing is an asymetrical vignetting. Do you have a filter or a filter/lens adapter attached? I agree, #2 is good pic.

I've taken a look at some of my wide-angle shots and the worst shows much less vignetting than yours and that was at f2.8 rather than f4. Vignetting is not entirely unheard of in wide-angle lenses but since your is so asymetrical makes me suspect that something is not centered properly.
