Can anyone tell me if the Z612 can use the SDHC cards? Can't seem to find out by reading any of the reviews. Thanks.

Greetings Jim,
I appreciate the interest. Actually, none of our camera from 2006 or before, which includes the Z612, are SDHC compatible. The first camera we have that is SDHC compatible is the Z712 IS. I expect that at leastsome of the cameras that may be offered in the future will also be SDHC compatible. Talk to you soon, Ron Baird Eastman Kodak Company |

Thanks. That's good news. I have a Z612 on the way to my house and I guess I need to buy a card for it, pretty odd that it doesn't come with one. Mind telling me what brand of card you use before I buy one? Thanks again

I'm using a 1GB Kodak card with my Z612because they were including it on a pre-Christmas special. I gave my son a C533 for Christmas and bought a 1GB Lexar from Wal Mart for that camera. It's worked fine. I haven't seen any card problems reported in conjuntion with Z612 so I suspect any 2GB card by a major memory supplier and purchased from a reputable source will work just fine. I don't think the Z612 is too fussy but make sure your getting it from a reputable source as there are fakes around. The cards aren't so expensive that you need to deal with unknown sources.
As a general rule camera manufacturers don't include a card if the camera has any internal memory. The Z612 and the C533 have internal memory hence no card. My old DC5000 didn't have internal memory so they shipped it with a card. |

Thanks for the info. Got mine about an hour ago and I'm charging the battery right now. Going to go out and get a memory card for it shortly, Staples has the 2 gig PNY card for about $25. Is there a way to transfer pictures form the internal memory to the card so that you can then transfer them to your pc, or do you have to hook up the cam to the pc directly in order to get them to the pc?

See page 40 of your User's Guide. If you didn't get one you can download a .pdf version from http://www.kodak.com/global/plugins/...612_GLB_en.pdf
