I am considering buying one of these cameras. With regard to taking photos in outdoor light (i.e. sunny), is the picture quality the same for these cameras or does one of them beat the other in image quality?

i got a 712 and I'm happy with it,

but i had a z7590 and looking back on shots taken with that there ain't a whole lot of difference in fact i would say no difference!!

so maybe have a look at a z7590 cos they must be a whole lot cheaper being an older model,

regards bob.

There is very little difference between the Kodak Z-612 and the P-712. The P-712 does have a hot shoe and is able to use the Kodak P-20 external flash which is quite a good flash with full TTL features.

my P850 makes pretty good pics. The P712 replaces it.
I prefer cameras that have the flash hot-shoe as you
never know when you might need it.
