Ditto... here!

I always have high regard for the DCS's from Kodak. They are still a powerhouse no matter what people say. They are a business and dSLR is a very small part of their revenue stream. They need all thoses cheap consumer stuffs to survive though.

In Disney World and Universal Studio this year I was surprised to see the official amusement park photographers use lowly Kodak Point&Shoot and on automated shooters @ the end of each ride. Hey, but they were making $20 per 8x10 from the photo printers (@ how many million visitors/day)!

Am I the only one NOT impressed by the sample pics?

It has high resolution, and really sharp images. But the colours (even the TIFF images) seems to be lacking depth, artifacts normally connected to JPG-compression.

Is it just me?

these images were from preproduction cameras with beta firmware. i'm just sitting here patiently waiting for them to get it together. you'll note the dead silence from kodak at this point.

also the shots were just lousy setups. field images are what is needed.

Could it be that theses cameras are designed for certain workflow? http://www.kodak.com/global/en/profe...12.5.6.5&lc=en to preserve the widest latitude for post-processing. After all it's not competing in the same market as a highly saturated Sony for example.

Audio recording ditto does not sound good when equalized @ the flat-level, but preserve the headroom for post-studio sound editing... and then target to their specific audiences. May be I'm just loosing it! ops: ops: ops:

Also unlike most camera's jpeg (8-bit) this camera is capable of 12-bits per color (ie 36-bit color) original capture extracted from it's jpegs:

the 760 and pro back and below use this software too . there has never been an issue of this magnitude with these products. the workflow hasn't changed. at this point it looks like kodak put the cart before the horse.

why the sound recording capability???? i have no idea.
