I want to get the TCON 1.7X for my Z740. Do I need any special adapters or do I just use the adapter I got with the camera (55mm adapter)? It seems like it is a little flimsey when its on the camera. Is there an optional screw on adapter for the camera. Thanks for the help.

Use the adapter that came with the camera. It should work. Not sure how the TCOn17 works with the Z740, though. You could probably check out the Kodak 1.4x TCON. but, it depends on how much more zoom you really need. If you need a good bit, go for the TCON17, bu, again, I don't know how it works with that camera.

so, you might want to check out the Kodak TCON, it should work well with the camera. But, its only 1.4x magnification. But, it should be top quaity.

The TCON will work great with the Z740. Trust me here!

I was actually very jealous to find out that the Z series (or at least 650 and 740) came with the lens adapter that we (P and DX) users all had to buy... Just my $0.02

Thanks for the info. One more thing. Any recommendations on a descent and reasonably priced uv filter and polarizing filter. Thanks

I bought a 55mm Tiffen Polarizer for $17 from BHPHOTO.com, the same filter was $65 in the stores near where I live.

I asked Kodak about that and got this reply:

The lens adapter for your Kodak EasyShare P712 zoom digital camera is
made from anodized aluminum while the lens adapter for the Kodak
EasyShare Z740 zoom digital camera is made only from hard plastic. See
the URL below for more information.

That kind of explains why one is a freebe and one is not.

Heh. I'm looking at the B+W circular polarizer! I'll have to get the adapter for my Z612... (when/if I get it.) And, we already have a 55mm clear protection filter(I don't have to get one. XD )... lucky me. :3

so yeah... B+W, they're top notch, ne? Hehe, I'm not getting much but the polarizer, the adapter, the camera, and an SD card for Christmas. ;D So, I wanted to get the B+W one...

Also... yeah.. my friend got his Z740 and it came with an adapter. -.- Oh well. :blah:
