Thanks en, at first I was using jpgs so I could use digi zoom. I didn't wanna get too close to this guy! With his legs out, he was bigger than a half dollar.

I was VERY pleased the way these spider pics came out, I rate them among some of the best I've taken.

Some of these were taken on a tripod, but he had his web a good 6 1/2 feet up and so I took the close-ups freehand.

This was a situation where the manual focus was awesome to have! An AF would have taken a long time to focus, and probably wouldn't have gotten it as clear as this.

I'm glad i've never seen any that big around me!
