One Of the ships I sailed on I spent 14 seasons on the Ryerson. A season on the Great Lakes on average begins towards the end of March and ends sometime in January. Its then laid up during the worst part of winter. During the summer months I took three vacations--4 weeks twice and 3 weeks once.Nine weeks were paid and 2 were unpaid.and then I had a couple winter months of paid.End of long winded explanation. Andy

Dan, the Ryerson is 750ft.length by 75 ft wide and normal summer load draft is about 27.6 ft. I sailed on afew different ships on the Great Lakes but the Ryerson was my favorite. Andy

I can tell you there is no rust bucket on the bottom of this ship from personal expereance. I wonder were your strange information comes from. Andy
