I took this picture yesterday morning behind the house overloking the western end of Lake Superior. The winds were blowing 20 to 30mph and there was rain and drizzle--not good conditions for holding a camera steady plus low light levals. This view is looking north down the beach with part of the central hillside of Duluth seen but not clearly about 4 miles away. Optical zoom used with the kodak 6490

Would have been a great shot with less wind. I know for me it is soo hard to hold the camera rock steady in that kind of wind. The little bit of focus loss is made up for by the scene itself. Beautiful spot there Andy! I honor your courage in risking a wet camera. LOL

Dawg, yes you are right--I dont like geting moisture on the lens but when I took the picture it was a very light drizzle and i held my hand in front of the lens tell the moment I took the picture. I had three or four drops on it but I had brought a clean white kleenex along and very carefully dabed them off and the lens looks fine. I sleldom if ever clean a camera lens as I know how touchy lens coatings are. Andy

Very true about the coatings Andy! I usually try just blowing mine off, but every now and then you have to wipe.
