There are several kinds of quail around here. these are the Gambles Quail. there the most common and all over the place. hope to get some shots of the other types.

However those type of quail are not found this far east (KS). We have the bob-white. It doesn't have that feather on it's head..

A couple of years ago, I had a family of bob-whites living in my yard. Of course I lived in the country, nearest neighbor was about a mile away..

The same here in Alabama! Bobwhites everywhere but too darned hard to shoot with a camera! Nice shots Ay!
