What is this for?

I like to use a aux wide angle lens on my Z730 of landscapes. If I opt for the infinity setting will this suffice? or is the aux lens setting essential?

Bill-

The aux. lens setting is only required when you are actually using a screw on aux. lens. Please keep in mind that a wide angle aux lens might be very helpful with your panoramas, because you would have to take fewer photo to cover your desired panorama.

That what I am refering to. When I use the aux. lens.

Telephoto is not as interesting as seeing a wide view with enhanced contrast.

During my lunch break today I went out along the walkway along the Belt Parkway where I have shot the Verrizano Bridge. Today I shot 3 verticles to make a strong horizontal pano. This time of the year the air and water temperature are nice and cool thus a nice crisp blue sky and fluffy white clouds. During the summer the air/water temperature vary to the point that the sky becomes hazy.

Regarding the Vivitar flash I am refering to setting the synch of the flash to work with the cameras cameras secnd flash rather than the focus pre-flash.

Bill you might want to take some test shots with both settings( aux lens setting on and off) and infinity on and off.
My tests have shown that infinity setting does not work with a Tcon attached. Almost impossible to focus.....Also found it does'nt seem to make any difference wether aux lens setting is on or off...Course this only applies to the Tcon, not the wide angle
