Any of you use slide scanner? I have heard that the flat bed scanners that also do slides take too long and are too good for enlargment.

It really depends on how many slides you have to scan and what you want to do with the resulting digital images. If you have a lot to do, a flat bed scanner is very slow and low in image quality. When done commercially, the quality stays high and you don't have to deal with the slow hassle of flat bed scanner.
