Just had a quick newbie question. I know that raynox makes this lens in a 55mm. But I know someone who has a 49mm with a 55mm step up ring so it will fit my 55mm P850. Are there any quality issues against using the 49mm compared to the 55mm.
If I can get the 49mm at a good price should I do it or should I hold out for the 55mm.

Thanks

There could be a problem with Vignetting by using a 49mm instead of a 55mm lens. Since you are shrinking the lens diameter to a size smaller than the camera lens you could wind up with a dark area at the perifery of the photos. If you have access to this lens then try a few shots and see how it works.

Like dawg said, there will probably have some vignetting !!

I tried the 52mm version on my camera and I think it was the limit before I get vignetting !!

So I decided to buy the 55mm :-)

I should get it in a few days
