I would like to know how to get a nice clear close up picture of a flower, with the P 850 camera.

Use the macro mode (the flower) !!

Use fast shutter speed, Iso 80, set the aperture to F2.8 !!

Try to use a tripod, and avoid shooting when there is wind outside :-)

Shoot when the sunlight is not very very bright and get the light source at 90 degrees to the photo or over one shoulder. a partialy cloudy day can make for photos where the highlights are not blown out by too much sunlight! And all of the things Boily said too!

Greetings,

I would be sure to use a tripod or a stable support that will let you use the settings you want. Kodak offers a great new tripod called the Gorilla. It can be adapted to most anything to give you support in those difficult scenarios. Check it out on the Kodak site.

Also, review the details of your camera, i.e. max settings and ranges, i.e. the closest and farthest you can be.

normal/tele—35.4 in. (90 cm)–infinity
macro/wide—3.9–35.4 in. (10–90 cm)
macro/tele—35.4 in.–6.6 ft (90 cm–2.0 m)

It will make a difference if you have a tool that measures the minimum and maximum at least until you have a good feel for these distances. It worked for me.

Talk to you soon,

Ron Baird
