Photos taken with the P850 cannot be displayed
in the C330. It says file format not recognized.
However, the P850 displays photos taken with the same
card in the C330. Would I be able to download them as well
to my PC from the P850?
Why does this happen?
Would a card reader recognize photos on a card taken
with different models of same brand cameras?
How about different brands, Kodak then Panasonic?

A card reader would most likely see the pictures from either card.

But... my question is why would you want to view P850 pictures on the C330?

A card reader WILL read pics on the same card from different cameras, brands, styles, etc. A card reader will read EVERYTHING on the card regardless of how it got there.

New one on me...I can review the photos from my wife's C340 on my DX6490 with no problem. A card reader just reads the data. If that data is Jpeg data then it shows the data on whatever viewer you use. I use the Windows photo and fax viewer all the time and have never had a problem. The Kodak software will do the same no matter which camera it came from. Jpg, jpeg or whatever! Jpeg is jpeg is jpeg. Now if you are capturing in Raw or tiff that is another problem! Ya see the c330 don't know any raw formats or tiffs! Just not set up to read it. Photoshop can read tiff but you'll need the latest version to read Raw files!

now try the other way; reading pics from the DX6490 on the C340.

I guess it's a feature on the better model.

I just did as you suggested and had absolutly no problem reading the files from the DX6490 with the review of the C340! No problems going either way! The 6490 will read the C340 files and the C340 will read the 6490 files. I've known this for a while as the wife and I swap out our SD cards from time to time!

My cx7530 will review and Jpegs I take with the P880 and vice versa... as long as they are jpegs.

Are you just trying to find a valid argument against Kodak or something?

Since the C330 will only read and take photos in Jpeg..As I and inneyeseakay have said you may be trying to read Tiff or raw files with the C330. That won't work.

Greetings Rom,

What is the file extension of the captured image in the P850? That camera has the option to save the files in JPEG/EXIF v 2.21, RAW,and TIFF. If you captured the images in anything other than JPG the camera would not be able to read it. Check it out and let me know.
