Hi gang how's everyone doing???
Gonna be coming back soon and was wondering on what cam to get the 850 or the 880?
The 850 hasthe zoom etc and the 880 has the mp that I would like...can anyone suggest this or any other kodak product that has simular features? I am happy with kodak and would like to stay with this product so any input would be great guys and gals...
Thanks again.

Hey there! Good to see ya back. Good to hear about the new cam as well!

Anyway, I have a kodak P880! And I absolutely love it. Great sharp results, with lots and lots of detail. And 8mp for those big prints! Not a big zoom cam.. but, you can get away with 2x digi zoom with the big 8mp files... also, the wide angle is amazing! There is an incredible differennce...

Why don't you have a look at my gallery, eh? :-)

I don't know about the 850... but, Boily does! He'll probably post in this thread soon... (I'm also looking at the 850, to go along with my P880! )

Regards,

p850: less mp more zoom

p880: manual zoom and focus rings: more mp's and less zoom

i have the 850 , the zooms a great asset but the 5 mp is a bit limiting at time if i want to crop a picture. both cameras are good, im sure you wont be dissapointed regardless of your choice

and welcome back nice to see you again

Maybe look at the p712... 7.1mp for big prints, 12x image stabilized zoom for ZOOOM capabilities.

I have owned both the p850 and p880. I certainly prefer the 880. I didn't really miss the zoom all that much, but I don't do much nature photography. The 24mm wide angle lens has opened a whole new world of landscape photography. I was able to go to a local football stadium and get a shot of the entire stadium, that just wouldn't have been possible with the 850, but if zoom is your thing, I would definately suggest the 712 or 850. It's all preference, if it weren't, Kodak would only have released one or the other. Just my $0.02.

:|Happy Shooting!

PS: Here's a couple ofthe stadium shots utilizing the 24mm lens, enjoy!
