I see plenty of i-pods on sale at e-bay for under $50.00, cheaper than a 4 gig meory chip and you can carry music too!

A company has a bird song i.d. mp3 down load for i-pods that also has pictures of the birds.

i got an 30 gig video ipod for free about 7 months back and I carry some photos on it.

works great!

I make some interesting slide shows with the free program from microsoft

Photo Story 3 that has interesting transitions and custumizable music that adjust to the length of the slide show that would be nice to carry on a ipod.

Yes, sometimes I bring my iPod Nano around to look at photos... I know it's a bit small, but still you can see the photos.... And plus you can choose the option of keeping the same file size, instead of choosing to reduce the file size, so you can look at the photos after on someone elses computer... i.e. friends...
