I couldn't find this answer in the owners manual, I'm hoping someone here will know. Can this camera format and use a 1gb SD card? How about a 2gb?

TIA,

I've tried it with our Kodak 6490, and it will read and format a 2 Mb card. (It's supposed to have a limitof a 512 Mb sd card.)

So I think that a newer serie like yours can read 1 and 2 Mb cards. (But not with

SDHC sd cards!)

I think Richard has it about right. Raw files eat up space so if your can shoot in Raw or Tiff the bigger cards are a must. Stay away from the SDHC cards as I'm not sure if they will work.

Two 512 MB will always be better than one 1 Gb, just because if one breaks down or gives a failure in the field you have a spare one.

I use a Kingston 1G in my 7590- no problems, along with a few Sandisk256+ 512...and I agree with Richard, why put all your eggs in one basket...unless you need the extra space for longvideos
