You have to do it w/ the Kodak software.
Lets see. Off the top of my head......mark the pik as a 'favorite' in camera. Then use the Kodak software. It should automatically make new (thumbnail) favorites on your camera.

On my DX6490...I hit the review button and when I see a photo there that I want to save as a favorite I hit the easyshare button(on my camera it is a jewl red button.) From the menu iselect favorites and then the joystick control in to select the photo as a favorite. When I down load the photos to the kodak software on the computer it recognizes the ones chosen and shows them as favorites!

Take it off of auto. Try "s" mode.

In PASM...The S mode or the M mode give you full control over the shutter speed. In M mode you also have full control of the F/stops!

I understand manual, shutter priority and aperture priority, and when i switch the dial to s or m the shutter speed appears but i cant change it. I think it is something i am doing wrong because everything else on the camera seems to work fine. In Ap. priority i can change the aperture but in shutter there is no change.

You might need to reload the firmware for the camera if you can't change the shutter speed in S mode...That's what S mode is for...with out the ability to manually adjust the shutter speed the S mode is useless! Have you contacted Kodaks support help line?

Greetings Ecap,

Just a note to say that you can create favorites in the EasyShare software and use the Synch and Transfer Manager to add pictures to the favorites in your camera when you connect it. You can also adjust the number of facorites you want in your camera. Give it a try and let us know if have any trouble.

thanks for all the input , sorry so long to respond.

we figured out the favorites and had a defect in the wheel for the shutter speed control. when you select s and push in on the wheel nothing would happen. if you select A and push the wheel you could scroll through the aperture ranges. It is being fixed now. thanks for the help.
