I saw a very good deal on a DSLR this week :G

A guy who lives 5 miles from my house is selling is Canon 20d with kit lens.

I was looking to buy a dslr since a few months and now decided to make the jump

I am keeping the p850 for the big-zoom ... Buyinga good telephoto for a dslr is VERY expansive :O

I will post some pictures in a few days :-)

Congratulations, Boily-

The Canon 20D is a great camera. I shot many great photos with mine before selling it and moving to the Nikon system. I think you will really enjoy the 20D. Go for it!

Congrats... You will love it, but those Canon lenses are quite pricey. Most of all... HAVE FUN!

If you don't mind me asking... How much are you paying for it?

LBA is awful... I'm a sufferer... I have been through about 36 lenses and now own two bodies... so be careful.

Okay, okay... the 36 lenses includes 26 that were bought entirely for resell

Boily... Definitiely don't dump the Kodak. I sold mine and I really regret it. For lenses, you can get some excellent glass from Sigma or Tamron. Don't buy the "low end lenses". Seems a huge favorite for an everyday lens is the Sigma 17-70mm f2.8 . I use it constantly. Also the Sigma 70-300mm f3.5 is very good. And Canon has a totally cheap 50mm f1.8 "prime" lens which is amazing... tack sharp. And it only costs about $68 US.

FB, I surely do agree with you-

The Sigma 17-70mm lens is a real jewel. It is tack sharp and has a very useful focal length range. And the Sigma 70-300mm APO DG is a bit slow to focus, but a very good sharp lens for the price.
