I took a drive with a nature loving buddy of mine a few weeks ago. We drove through Jemez Springs, the Valles Caldera National Preserve and finally Los Alamos. It was well past hunting season and the mule deer were exeptionally calm.

The first photo is an area where tons of western movies were filmed (and still are).

This is a detail of a section of the famous Jemez Hot Springs. These springs have hosted zillions of naked hippies (and still do).

Here we are on the outskirts of Los Alamos. Seeing lots of tracks in the snow... deer, coyote, hippy...

Here's another mule deer just before the deer got spooked by a coyote. The coyote was moving too fast and stealthy for me to get a picture of him.

Here's some colorful landscape we passed on the way home. I wish I had taken my wide angle lens with me.

I didn't have time for a pano... My significant other was waiting for me to get home and start on the "honey Do" list. And... I was shooting with a monopod, no tripod.
