Boily... Real popular lens on a budget is the Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG Macro. Important to get the "APO" version. They run in the low $300 range. I have one and love it. I basically use 2 lenses: Sigma 17-70mm and the Sigma 70-300mm. See the balloon post I did earlier. That balloon was way off on the horizon and the photo is heavily cropped.

Thanks, I was looking to that lens before somebodygave mea good deal on a canon 75-300mm III USM !!

I think they are about the same quality :-)

Nice choice Boily... Some day when I win the lottery I intend to get some "L" lenses. Some Canon reps visited the last meeting of the camera club I belong to and I drooled all over their display of goodies.

BTW, let it be known that I still do own and use a KODAK camera. (I don't want to give the impression that this forum is morphing into a DSLR forum)

Yeah, the "L" lenses make me dream lol !!

And I still love my kodak :|
